November 12, 2001, Austin, TX. - SubstanceTV Inc., producers and publishers of the new SubstanceTV DVD videomagazine, today announced its first retail partner, GameStop Inc., a subsidiary of Barnes and Noble, Inc. Debuting on November 22, SubstanceTV will be available at GameStop's 1,000-plus retail locations nationwide at a $4.99 price point. SubstanceTV was previously available solely by subscription to residents of the U.S. and Canada.

Each issue of SubstanceTV delivers over two hours of innovative, original content, comprised of short films and documentaries, music videos, video game trailers and news, digital exhibits and more.

With original productions and the work of innovative filmmakers, musicians and artists from around the world, SubstanceTV offers rich content in five "Areas of Exploration": Music, Film, Play, People, and Truth. 

This Introductory Issue features plenty of hot gaming content for GameStop's gaming fans, including a behind-the-scenes look at the making of FireFly Studios' Stronghold, a castle building simulation and strategy game for the PC; new Max Payne Xbox footage; and a first look at Grand Theft Auto 3 for the Sony Playstation2.
