Haskins - Editor-in-Chief
William Haskins spent the past two years as Gathering of Developers' Senior Editor, during which time he authored two strategy guides and more than half a dozen game manuals, and worked as a screenwriter on major PC game releases, including the Blair Witch series and Max Payne.
In addition to game-specific writing, William contributed thirty-four weekly columns to the GodGames website, covering a variety of topics both inside and outside the games industry, and worked closely with the Gathering's marketing department, writing and editing radio ads, sales sheets, and copy for promotional videos.
William pursued the vocation of writing from an early age and published his first short fiction while studying English at Louisiana State University. He continued his freelance efforts during his years as an English instructor at The Reading Center in Shreveport, Louisiana, publishing both fiction and poetry in academic and small press magazines.
From 1997 to 2000, William was staff writer and editor for Dallas-based computer game developer ION Storm, where he contributed to journalistic, promotional, and creative efforts. He was named Director of Web Operations in 1998 and, over the next year, oversaw the development of websites for Daikatana, Anachronox, and Deus Ex.
William continues to write fiction and screenplays, and a film adaptation of his short story The Desert God is currently in production.
He lives with his wife and children in Austin, Texas.
