Damon
Brown - Director of DVD Development
Following a successful broadcasting career, Damon Brown joined Gathering of Developers as Multimedia Producer, contributing to the Gathering of Goodness interactive CD series.
Damon began his 15-year career in broadcast television as a teleprompter operator and lighting technician. After earning his Communications and Theatre degree from Abilene Christian University, he spent time as a news reporter, field reporter, and weather anchor- ultimately serving as Creative Services Director at CBS affiliate KTAB TV. In this capacity, he managed the entire studio and field production staff and supervised promotions, public affairs, and commercial sales production.
As Executive Producer for the annual Children's Miracle Network broadcast, Damon produced segments with his team that garnered national attention for their creativity and originality, and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for the local children's hospital.
Damon is proudest of his broadcast background as exemplified by projects such as CMN, and these humanistic interests were further reflected in an original television series that he wrote and produced. These programs explored a variety of stories, including a local athlete's journey to the Olympic Games and local efforts to raise money to purchase lifesaving Thermal Imaging equipment for the fire department.
As a writer, Damon has had a number of original plays produced. His most recent- a production of his two-person show, Birthright- enjoyed a revival tour in Singapore, culminating with a production at the dedication of the National Centre for Fathering.
He currently lives in Austin, Texas.
